Your Work-Life Balance

Looking after the wellbeing of our employees and offering them a good work-life balance is key to the success of Hymans Robertson. If our consultants are going to exceed our clients' expectations, they need to be healthy, happy and relaxed. Getting this balance right has helped us become a Best Companies Employer of Choice in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Our guiding principles for employee wellbeing include:

Choices- We're all different. We have preferred working patterns and individual interests that are important to us. At Hymans Robertson, we respect and value this.

Quality not quantity- We want you to work hard, but we'd prefer to reward you for the quality of your work, not the hours you spend at your desk. At Hymans Robertson, you'll progress based on the value you bring to the business and those who report to you.

Resources- We don't believe excessive levels of overtime are good for anyone - we prefer to have enough employees to handle the work we have. However, as recruitment can take longer than winning business, we do have occasional peaks in workload.

Delegation- We believe in delegation. It gives senior consultants the time to concentrate on strategic issues and creates more opportunities for interesting and challenging work.

Flexibility- A practical work-life balance relies on flexibility on both sides - employer and employee. We have a number of policies in place to offer flexibility where possible, and respect the European-led working time directive legislation.

Working to my strengths is encouraged. My people manager is fantastic at seeking out opportunities that both fit my strengths and helps me to get more experience in areas that I want further exposure to
